    1. When I was 8 I saw a movie my parents rented The only part of the movie I remembered was the fact that it was a Vampire movie, and saw a guy walking towards his sister all scary, she screamed and he stopped and said sorry, I was pretending to be a vampire I couldn t remember what movie it was, but that one Scene stayed stuck in my head for the next 5 years Just last year I was scrolling through my TV guide on the Syfy channel to see what time the new season of Being Human was gonna start up agai [...]

    2. When I was 23 and a 15 year old brother of a friend handed me this series and said I should read it, I mostly started reading it just to amuse him How little did I know I would get completely sucked into this crazy world I love the way Darren Shan writes It s full of twists and turns and I became very attached to the characters There were several times that I had to stop, put the book down, and walk away just to absorb the twist that had just happened The whole series was full of great twists an [...]

    3. The Darren saga were nearly the best books I ve ever read They re extremelly exiciting and I could never put them down ever since I read the first chapter of Cirque Du Freak Originally, I wasn t meant to read the whole saga, we were only requested to finish the first book. However, I just felt addicted to them Although I can t deny that some books in the middle weren t as good as the others, especially Allies of the night, the overall story and most of the books were great I enjoyed the time when [...]

    4. These books provided some stiff competition for J.K Rowling in my house, though both hold a very dear place in my teenage heart I loved this saga, which in my opinion only gets better as the stories progress The reader is truly taken on a journey with Darren as the narrative develops and becomes intricate They are evidence of some fantastic storytelling, which kept me turning pages well after my bed time and going right back to the start to relive it once again I still look back on these with f [...]

    5. Im 26 and even tho is has been 10 years ago when i readed some of the books i would read them again cause i forget a lot of awsome parts of the world and the life Darren lives with the people that he meets, this book writer is a real creator of a wonderfull fantasyworld Or is it reallife and are we to domb to see it Are they tricking us Deff a good one to get your kid, lets say from 11 till 30 years old guys would still be down to reading this kind of stories.

    6. Vampires And NOT the sparkly kind Brilliant Crepsley is hilariously cold and the secret supernatural world that Shan has created is so full of twists and new ideas Intense, thrilling, unbelievably gripping And who doesn t love a good vampire

    7. Loved it as a kid but never finished the entire series.Still love it as an adult, finally finished them all

    8. 9. book 10 I can t believe the books actually got betterLet me start of with the reason I m reading this saga, while absolutely hating it when I was around 12 I saw the first book of the saga of Darren Shan in my school library Obsessed with fantasy as I was, I decided to give it a try In my 12 year old mind the first book was absolutely amazing, and i couldn t wait for the next one Sadly, my town s library only had the last 3 books out of a 12 books long saga I wasn t really a picky reader, so i t [...]

    10. I was recommended this series many years ago and giving that it was suggested by a friend, whose opinion I held highly when it comes to books and films, I began to read almost immediately I ve never fallen in love with a series so passionately, as I did with this Admittedly, the first book s narrative starts off just slightly cliched, but it has such a uniqueness and enigmatic pull that you re able to overlook that From the second book onwards, it just gets better and better You grow to love and [...]

    11. Usually it can be quite cringe worthy when an author writes themselves or a version of themselves into a novel However, Darren Shan s The Vampire s Assistant s saga featuring the conventional teenage protagonist Darren Shan is a far cry from cringe worthy When reading the first instalment of the saga, Cirque du Freak , you are invited into the mundane world of teenager Darren Shan ordinary life, ordinary grades, ordinary friends well except for Steve and then the whole Vampire s Assistant thing. [...]

    12. Review edited I read the first six book in Croatian and the rest of them in English The first book I read was The vampire s assistant, which I bought when I was on my summer break few years ago I read it in one day and it inspired me to start writing my own book I liked that the chapters were short and simple and easy to read, but also interesting I also found characters interesting, even R.V I enjoyed in other books, too, but I find The vampire s assistant the best But, I found one thing very s [...]

    13. At the time of reading these books I just got into adulthood and reading, and so after so many books I ve realized, Darren Shan s books are very fun to read, and quite interesting, but sadly he writes for the younger audience, such as teens. While I really enjoyed and liked the books, I didn t feel the need to keep on reading further due to the way it was written All in all, I consider Darren Shan s books to still be absolutely amazing, and if someone enjoys books for teens, he is a wonderful rea [...]

    14. I read these when I was quite young,so the Darren shan series took me quite a long time to read.Basically, these twelve books are written in a young boys point of veiw, Darren shan and are about his life being a vampire, joining a great vampire clan with his master larten crepsley, and defeating evil This saga of books made me laugh, and cry If you have time, pick up these books and start reading

    15. Amazing books I loved all of them The books were well written and kept you interested in the book I started obviously with book 1 and I fell in love with the rest of the series I love how it was not your usual vampire book It was much than that It was about growing up and dealing with the changes that come with being a vampire The main character is a young boy when he becomes a vampire, so it is him making early sacrifices in order to live his new life Very good book.

    16. The Saga of Darren Shan is a brilliant read for teenagers who are interested in creepy vampires rather than the romanticised creatures we now find everywhere They are proper vampire books rather than the love struck teenage angst stories that are so popular They re than worth a read for that reason alone.

    17. I gave it 5 from 5 because for me this book is perfect It s not because I love that vampire thingy But Darren Shan is the book that you couldn t put it even for a minute If I didn t have anything to do, I probably locked up my self in my room just to finish this book The adventure, the twist and the whole story is just blew me away.

    18. How could he just make vampires sound so cool and terrible at the same time I loved reading each sequel Each offered an amazing insight into the world of humans and vampires, myths and tales, trials and games, the darren shan sagas will always be remembered

    19. These books kept me entertained as a child and I m proud to still have them on my bookshelf as an adult Definitely worth checking out.

    20. Entertaining, good to kill time, not for serious readers, good if you re looking for something to clear your mind of a strain of depressing thoughts of reality.

    21. Loved these books since I was about 12, the whole series follows a fantastic plot and have read them again and again
